Indian FTR 1200 Skid Plate

Ride the FTR in gravel or two track and you wince every time you hear a ping or a chunk from below. This 4.75mm thick skid plate made of 5052-H32 aluminum gives your FTR the protection it needs.

The skid plate covers the sump and protects the oil cooler lines, the exposed battery, and the electrical connectors behind the battery. Even if you mostly ride pavement, those are precious bits and road debris ricochets.

It is thicker than most skid plates, which is how we designed a low profile strong enough to take a hit and look good on sportier FTRs, too. When you look at the bike you see the bike first, and the skid plate second. 

Mounts to the engine block and the factory kickstand mount. Nothing is drilled. It takes about 5-10 minutes to remove when you need to do the oil. You can even use this skid plate as a jack point, we have.

Satin black powder coat. Been off road tested where it makes the rough sections a good deal less anxiety producing.

And yes - we know the exhaust hangs lower than the skid plate - but nobody is taking an FTR down steps big enough to crush the exhaust.  And if you really decide to test ground clearance, the exhaust is the least of your concerns and the skid plate is there for the rest of it.
