Garment width is measured flat across the front, one inch below the armhole. "To fit chest" is your own chest measured under the arms at the fullest point, which is the number most people know.
Body length is measured from the high point of the shoulder down the front.
Bella+Canvas is cut slimmer than Gildan or Hanes. If you wear a Large in those and like a relaxed fit, take an XL here.
